Vanquish PS5 Backwards Compatibility Boot Time and Gameplay Performance Test
This is Vanquish for the PlayStation 4 running on a PlayStation 5. In case you’re wondering, this is the disc version of Bayonetta & Vanquish 10th Anniversary Bundle.
Much like Bayonetta, the game is running at 1080p on my display, but that may be because there’s no way to force the PS5 to supersample higher resolutions if there are no options built in-game. Vanquish would output at 1080p on PS4 Pro if you had a 1080p display, but if you enabled Supersampling Mode then it would output to 1440p even if you’re on a 1080p display. Sadly, there is no Supersampling Mode on PS5 for some strange reason.
If you’re on a 4K TV, then you should get 1440p as your resolution. Both 1080p and 1440p resolutions run at 60fps. The resolution for the base PlayStation 4 was 1080p and the frame rate was also set to 60fps. Any frame rate drops that occurred on PlayStation 4 or PlayStation 4 Pro don’t appear to happen on PlayStation 5, which is great. It’s a solid experience all around.
Let me know what you think in the comments below. Thanks for watching!
The recording is in 1080p and 60fps. Gameplay captured from a PS5.
